Mazdaspeed 3, Mazdaspeed 6 and CX7 Turbocharger upgrades

 

BNR Supercars has engineered 3 stages of turbocharger upgrades for the Mazdaspeed 3, Mazdaspeed 6, and the Mazda CX7.  These upgrades were designed to be a replacement for the K04 factory turbocharger..  The stock K04 is a throw away unit that shouldn't be rebuilt.  The weak points of the K04 is the long shaft length, small shaft width, and thrust bearing design.  BNR's new designed replacement/upgrade far overshadows the K04 turbocharger that comes equipped on the Mazdas.

The benefit of the BNR upgrade is the increased shaft size, shorter shaft, bigger bearings, better thrust bearing assembly, better turbine wheel, more efficient compressor wheel, and last but not least, more reliable.  No question this upgrade is far more superior to the original equipment turbocharger on the Mazdas.

 

 

Mazdaspeed 3/6/CX7 Turbocharger upgrades

The BNR stage 1 is a 100% bolt up no fabrication required.  It flows enough for 320 AWHP/350 FWHP.  It consists of a GT28 Disco Potatoe non ball bearing CHRA (center housing rotating assembly).  The end housings are CNC machined to fit the CHRA and all factory oil lines, water lines, and stock wastegate actuator bolt up with no issues!  This is perfect for someone that wants reliability but be as close to stock as possible.  The BNR stage 1 consists of:

  • CNC machined turbine and compressor housings
  • GT28 CHRA (center housing rotating assembly)
  • high performance thrust assembly
  • garretts latest compressor and turbine wheel designs
  • 1 year warranty
  • NO SMOKE!

BNR Mazdaspeed 3/6/CX7 Stage 2 Turbocharger Upgrade

 

The BNR stage 2 has the same CHRA as the stage 1, but the compressor housing is upgraded.  This housing easily flows 10% more volume as the stock compressor housing.  All oil and water lines are bolt up, compressor housing is upgraded and also an upgraded wastegate actuator is fabricated to the turbocharger.  

  • Upgraded compressor housing
