 Subaru WRX/STI

The WRX is a great car with supercar potential.  The early WRX's came with a TD04 turbo which is good for response, but isn't great on output.  Most everyone takes the TD04 off and puts the VF series turbocharger on.  The VF turbos can be modified to flow up to 400 WHP.  You can be set up with a TD05 16g hybrid which would be a good turbocharger for the stock or mildly modifed, street driven WRX/STI.  For the ones with all the bolt ons that want big time power, we can build you a TD06 50 trim turbo that would be a great application for up to 500 WHP.  You can't get over 500 WHP with the 7-8cm2 turbine housing, so there is no need to jump up past a 50 trim.

If you want to relocate the turbocharger, then you have all sorts of options on turbine housing size, and the compressor housing size.  But the problem there is fabricating up different pipes, oil feed, and drain tubes to accomidate for the reloaction of the turbocharger.  If you have plans for more power than the bolt up hybrid, give us a call or an email.

WRX/STI Hybrid Turbocharger Upgrades

BNR Supercars offers the subru cars a VF series hybrid turbocharger.  We take the IHI CHRA (center housing rotating assembly) out, and we manufacture a replacement mitsubishi turbocharger to fit in its place.  So you have a few opions!

  • EVO 16g/TD05H turbine (320 WHP)
  • 18G/TD05H turbine (340 WHP)
  • 20G/TD05H turbine (360 WHP)
  • 20G/TD06 turbine (400 WHP)

The EVO 16G is an entry level turbocharger that has signifigant gains to most of the larger VF turbochargers.  No matter what engine you have (2.0-2.5L), the EVO 16G is a well rounded turbocharger with great response and output.  The turbocharger will appear stock, all factory oil and water lines and fittings will bolt up to this mitsubishi CHRA.  This unit is 100% bolt up with no fabrication required!

The 18G TD05H is also close to entry level.  It will not spool as well as the 16G, but the top RPM will be a little stronger, but not by much!  It is also well suited for either engine.  This one is also 100% bolt up.

The 20g/TD05H is bang for the buck.  Great power, and good response.  It looks completely stock!  This one will be a little laggy on the 2L engine, but the 2.5 will be well suited for this set up.  All water lines, and oil lines bolt up.

This is what you get from the BNR Supercars VF/Mitsubishi turbocharger hybrid.

  •  New CHRA with your choice of compressor and turbine wheels
  • CNC machined turbine housing
  • water lines, and oil lines bolt up
  • 1 year warranty
  • 100% bolt up and stock appearing!
