Ford Probe GT/Thunderbird T-coupe
Mazda cars back in the 80’s and early 90’s were a very popular car to make pretty quick with just a few bolt-ons. After all the basic mods and the boost is turned up a little, the cars seemed to wake up with the stock turbo. IHI RHB5 turbochargers were equipped in these cars. They can be upgraded and performance gains are fenominal. This is where BNR Supercars can help you out!
In BNR’s upgrades, we don't just sell you a remanufactured RHB5. Those things are garbage. On top of that, IHI discontinued the turbine wheels and bearing housings. Now there aren't new replacement component pieces. That reason alone is why we engineered a CHRA (Center Housing Rotating Assembly) replacement that completely does away with the IHI unit. We fit a GT28 non ball bearing "disco potatoe"CHRA to the stock IHI turbine housing. We also machine the turbine housing for the larger turbine wheel making the exhaust housing more efficient. The compressor housing is also upgraded to a T3 2.5" inlet and 1 7/8" outlet compressor housing. The factory inlet duct will have to be replaced which is a good idea for performance anyway. The upgraded compressor housing improves flow over the stock housing by 15-20%!
The wastegates come ported on the hybrid upgrades and also the wastegate also comes adjustable. This allows you to turn up or down the boost mechanically w/o an electronic or manual boost controller. The adjustable actuator can also make the boost controllers more effective b/c you are working them less to turn up the boost.
BNR Supercars offers a 1 year warranty with your turbo upgrade. Turbocharger cores are needed when purchased! It doesn't matter if they are blown up, leaking oil etc.
